In addition to research, all of our consultants have extensive marketing, sales or general management experience and are sympathetic to the rigours of the marketplace.

John Berenyi, Managing Director

B.Ec, B.Sc (Hons), APS, AMSRS

A registered Psychologist, John has over 25 years experience in marketing, consulting and research in Australia, Europe, USA and Asia. He has worked with organisations such as Coca-Cola, McCain, Coles Myer, Macquarie Bank, Telstra, Becton, Origin Energy, Pacific Brands and Warner Bros. He holds one of the longest industry track records in entertainment and shopper research. Before establishing Bergent, John was Vice President of Advertising and Publicity for Warner Bros Asia and held board and executive roles at Clemenger Harvie (BBDO) . Katy Nugent, Director

B.Ec, AMSRS

Katy has over 20 years experience in consumer and industrial market research. Since the founding of Bergent, in 1987, Katy has been involved in all aspects of Bergent’s research from brief and on to delivery. Her entertainment work involved working with clients such as Disney, Warner Bros, AFTRS, Fox and Roadshow. With confidence and passion, she leads a team of experienced researchers.

Dennis Butler, Account Director

MMKTG, BA (Sociology, Hons), AMSRS

Dennis holds a 1st class Honours degree in Sociology and a Masters of Marketing from Melbourne Business School. He has 8 years experience in market research and has worked across a range of fields including FMCG, business-to-business, membership bodies, consumer electronics, government, education and not-for-profit organisations. Dennis has worked on the supplier side of research with GfK and Colmar Brunton and on the client side with the University of Melbourne. Before joining Bergent Dennis was the Market Insights Manager at CPA Australia.

 

Ranil Illesinghe, Account Director

Grad. Dip CA, B.Com, AMSRS

Ranil has worked on numerous qualitative, quantitative and combined research projects in diverse industries such as energy and resources, quick service restaurants, entertainment, FMCG and property. His work has involved companies and brands such as Origin Energy, Red Rooster, Treasury Wine Estates (Foster’s), Disney, APN Property Group and SCA. Before joining Bergent, Ranil gained experience in marketing communications, working with a neuro-technology company co-ordinating its marketing activities. Prior to this, he was part of a rotational graduate program for a multinational manufacturing company, where he gained experience in all areas of the business.

Iris D’Souza, Account Manager

MBA (Marketing), PGDCSM, BSc, AMSRS

Iris is a Gold Medalist MBA in Marketing as well as a Post Graduate Diploma holder in Computer Science & Management with experience in both the IT and Research fields. With more than six years of research experience, her specialties include online and PR related research. Her experience ranges across various industries including government, automotive, real estate, finance, banking and education. She recently moved to Australia from Dubai and has worked with online research agency YouGov as well as Ipsos and Synovate. Her clients in Australia include QSRH (Red Rooster, Chicken Treat, and Oporto), Carlton & United Breweries, SCA and Dennis Family Corporation.

Belinda Urbans, Account Manager

BCommerce, AMSRS

Belinda holds a degree in Commerce (Marketing) at Monash University. Belinda has seven years experience starting her career at TNS and before Bergent, The Leading Edge in Melbourne. Belinda has worked across both quantitative and qualitative projects for a number of clients across different industries (Foster’s, Constellation Wines, Cadbury, Schweppes, Hudson’s Coffee, Telstra, Foxtel, L’Oreal, AB Foods, Origin Energy, FleetPartners, Simplot & NAB), including local, national and multi-country studies. Getting to the core, understanding people, uncovering new and exciting insights – are areas Belinda is most passionate about.

Beatriz Miralles-Lombardo, Account Manager

BFA, AMSRS

Beatriz has over 10 years’ experience in the social and market research industry. Over the years, she has developed expertise in the management and co-ordination of national projects requiring sensitive liaison with a diverse range of stakeholders. Beatriz’s recent work has involved projects for Sanofi, Origin Energy, the Department of Human Services (DHS), MS Australia, Diabetes Australia, the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC).

Irina Korzh, Research Executive

MA (Advertising), BComm, AMSRS

Irina has a specialised international experience attained in Asia Pacific and Europe in various screen content production, marketing, hospitality and government sectors. Prior to joining the Bergent Team she was employed by a leading multi-disciplinary design agency. Managing accounts such as Siemens, Dickson’s, TWU, Johnson & Johnson, Healthscope and Birds Australia from planning to delivery, she has finally found her niche in consumer research. Natural curiosity about the world has encouraged her desire to understand what drives people’s attitudes and behavior.

Amy McHatton, Operations Manager

 

Amy has a diverse professional background in the hospitality, retail, construction and property sectors, working in London, Italy and most recently in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Returning to Australia after 13 years, Amy is continuing to compliment her well rounded knowledge of project management, client care and office administration. She is responsible for all aspects of our office management, project scheduling and assisting the researchers in an administrative role.

Sarah Watson, Finance Manager

 

Sarah has been with Bergent for just over 10 years. Prior to joining the team her background was predominantly working as Financial Controller for a number of fashion design companies. Within this field she has also worked in sales and marketing, including selling in the London Designer Shows and New York Fashion Coterie. She has plenty of experience liaising with the press, which was part of her role working with a well known designer in London, as well as other promotions roles for designers and jewellers. She has developed an expertise in communicating with all levels of business which lends itself to the day to day operations of liaising with clients and suppliers.
